Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our Corporate Procurement Team at SSE. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Fleet, Plant, Fuel & Travel spend category, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the SSE Group.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a category strategy to drive down the total cost of ownership and improve supplier relationships.
- Lead strategic sourcing projects, including supplier negotiation and contract execution.
- Manage a significant and disparate level of spend to ensure compliance and drive efficiencies.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the SSE Group and proactively identify and influence key suppliers to drive innovation and maximise savings opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong commercial acumen and a drive to bring synergies, efficiency and effectiveness to our Fleet, Plant, Fuel & Travel category spend. You will also have a demonstrated ability to manage the successful creation and execution of a category strategy within a 'regulated' environment.
A degree or equivalent category management/regulated procurement experience is required. We offer an excellent package with 34 days annual leave entitlement, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, discounted healthcare, salary sacrifice car leasing and much more.
