About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Thera Trust.
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with a learning disability to live the lives they choose.
Our team is led by people with a learning disability, and our vision is to promote that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society.
You will empower individuals to make their own decisions and choices, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their personal goals and ambitions.
As a Support Worker, you will work in a fast-paced environment, creatively solving problems and learning new skills to provide the best possible support to our service users.
With a focus on person-centred care, you will work closely with our team to develop innovative ways to support individuals, helping them to develop new skills, and plan and manage their own home, support with leisure, employment, individual interests, and travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with a learning disability to live the lives they choose
- Empower individuals to make their own decisions and choices
- Provide support and guidance to help individuals achieve their personal goals and ambitions
- Work in a fast-paced environment, creatively solving problems and learning new skills
- Develop innovative ways to support individuals, helping them to develop new skills and plan and manage their own home, support with leisure, employment, individual interests, and travel
Requirements
- No previous experience or qualifications required, with free, Skills for Care endorsed full training provided
- Compassionate, caring, confident, and resilient
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter, with a high level of motivation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident, articulate, and professional
- Keenness to learn in a fast-paced environment and creatively solve problems
- Desire to embrace our values and vision and have fun
