Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Furniture Testing Professional to join our client's furniture testing department in Kettering, Northamptonshire, UK. This role offers flexible working hours and is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for a varied and challenging position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Preparation: Prepare and condition furniture prior to testing according to British, European, and international standards.
  2. Testing and Assistance: Conduct physical testing of mattresses, cabinets, tables, and seating to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  3. Lab Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of laboratory areas and assist others with moving furniture samples.
  4. Scheduling: Plan and agree testing schedules with customers and the Head of Furniture.
  5. Training Records: Complete and maintain accurate training records.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and customers.
  2. Computer Literacy: Have good computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel to manage data and reports.
  3. Time Management: Be able to work to deadlines and manage your time effectively to meet testing schedules.
  4. Attention to Detail: Follow instructions accurately and have a good attention to detail to ensure high-quality test results.
  5. Organisation: Demonstrate experience of organisation and planning skills to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
  6. Teamwork: Ability to work alone or as part of a team to achieve testing goals.
  7. Flexibility: Show flexibility, tenacity, and a 'can-do' attitude to adapt to changing testing requirements.
