Child Psychotherapy Specialist

In this role as a Child Psychotherapy Specialist, you will work with a diverse range of young people and age ranges in schools across Bristol.
The primary focus is on delivering psychodynamic psychotherapy interventions to enhance emotional well-being and resilience in children.
- Collaborate closely with school staff to provide 1:1 therapy sessions for students requiring additional support.
- Liaise with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
This position offers the opportunity to work in various educational settings, including primary, secondary, and SEN schools.
Successful candidates will possess experience in bringing psychodynamic thinking to their work with children with special needs and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct classroom observations and assessments to identify areas for therapeutic intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes social-emotional growth and development.
A strong understanding of child development, mental health, and education principles is essential for this role. Qualified psychodynamic child counsellors or child psychotherapists are preferred candidates.
Salary: £29,789 - £37,605 per annum (pro rata), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
