We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our team at RAF Lakenheath. As a key member of our Industrial Equipment Mechanic Work Leaders, you will be responsible for maintaining, overhauling, and repairing water treatment and distribution systems, industrial waste treatment equipment, and collection systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Lead and plan maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks for water and wastewater treatment plants and systems.
- Examine and troubleshoot industrial plant machinery to identify and rectify performance shortfalls.
- Utilize blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders to plan and lay out work.
- Supervise preventive maintenance services and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain a variety of test equipment and measuring devices.
- Teach and guide lower-graded or other trades employees and ensure a safe and clean work environment.
We are looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with a BTEC Level 3/City and Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and experience in planning and leading teams for corrective and preventive maintenance tasks. You will have the ability to independently diagnose, plan, and complete projects involving major water and wastewater systems. Your knowledge spans mechanical, electric, and electronic procedures, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You are skilled in using hand and power tools, and various test equipment.
You will have a strong ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, sketches, and work orders, and excel in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plant equipment. Additionally, you can handle and safeguard sensitive information and maintain the appropriate security clearance, possess a Category B driver's licence, and are willing to undergo a pre-employment physical. Flexibility to work overtime and travel internationally as required is also a must.
