About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections and House Officer to join our team at Hatchlands Park. As a key member of our Collections and House Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care and presentation of our collection, including 48+ historic keyboards.

You will work collaboratively with our friendly and supportive team to improve access to our collection and provide a consistently excellent experience for our visitors. Reporting to the Collections and House Manager, you will be responsible for opening the house daily, supervising routine conservation and preventive conservation, and collecting and recording information to improve our knowledge and understanding of the house and its contents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Opening the house daily and ensuring adequate staffing to provide a great visitor experience
  • Supervising routine conservation and preventive conservation, including deep cleaning
  • Collecting and recording information to improve our knowledge and understanding of the house and its contents
  • Using preventive conservation methods to improve how we care for and present our collection

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional service, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work effectively as part of a team. You should be comfortable with managing costs and spending, and have a keen eye for detail.
