Job Overview

The Compliance Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring Continental's products comply with radio frequency emission and reception regulations in various markets. This involves establishing and adhering to processes necessary for managing compliance activities, working with regulations to determine relevant technical standards, and supporting the engineering team in gaining and maintaining compliance documents and certificates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain knowledge of global radio frequency legislation and its relevance to Continental's products.
  • Communicate legislative considerations to the engineering team and ensure evidence of compliance is obtained.
  • Develop and implement processes for managing Radio Frequency compliance activities.
  • Contribute to the resolution of concerns related to radio frequency compliance within the organization.
  • Establish and monitor budgets necessary to support compliance activities and costs.
  • Participate in allocated roles to solve legislation-related engineering problems.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the motor industry or a similar technical field.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing regulatory compliance in an automotive or engineering environment, particularly RF or EMC requirements.
  • Self-motivated to challenge obstacles and develop new approaches to problem-solving.
  • Ability to interface with personnel at all levels to achieve outcomes.
  • Data rational and able to analyze problems and provide justified recommendations.
  • Flexible approach to acquire specific knowledge and skills outside of day-to-day activities.
  • Project management experience is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of automotive engineering, electrical architectures, and RF relevant systems.
  • Knowledge of RF transmission theory and parameters specific to RF compliance.
  • Ability to access and interpret RF compliance standards for global markets.
  • Contribution to technical discussions on RF compliance matters.
  • General knowledge of electrical and mechanical automotive engineering principles.
  • Desirable: degree in Electronic, Mechatronics, or Radio related discipline, or accredited engineering status.
