Psychology Placement Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Child Psychology Graduate or student to join our dedicated team at an Outstanding Secondary School in Islington. The ideal candidate will have strong academics, a passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH needs, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to complete your psychology placement year or gain experience ahead of applying for further studies. You will be working closely with 2 non-verbal children and assisting pupils in and out of lessons.

The role involves providing support to class teachers within the classroom, assisting children with SEN/SEMH needs 1:1 and in small groups, monitoring and recording interventions, and perfecting your skills needed for roles in educational therapy, mental health, support work, teaching, and more.

As a valued member of our team, you will receive opportunities to work alongside Counsellors, Therapists, Psychologists, and more. Our school recognizes Mental Health Awareness Week every year and offers strong belief in helping children develop emotional resilience.

Job Specifications:

  • Based in Islington
  • Working in an Outstanding Secondary school
  • Monday - Friday (no weekends)
  • Long-Term, Full-Time (term time only)
  • £105 - £110 daily rate
  • ASAP start

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A hardworking graduate/student with strong academics and a passion for learning
  • Previous experience with children and SEN/SEMH needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with Non-Verbal children
  • Previous experience working 1:1
  • Someone resilient and able to overcome challenges
