**Empowering Learning** is seeking a Therapeutic Learning Partner to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in our RAISE therapeutic provision. This rewarding role offers a competitive salary of £26,000 - £31,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

In this role, you will work closely with students who have emotional school-based avoidance, providing a supportive and nurturing environment. You will also support the teacher to engage and deliver pupils in Maths and English. We require someone with a genuine passion for supporting learners with SEN and a proven track record of working with children or young people with ASC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a supportive and nurturing environment for students who have emotional school-based avoidance.
  • Support the teacher to engage and deliver pupils in Maths and English.
  • Work closely with students who have ASC, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or other visual aids to enhance understanding.
  • Support students with social interaction, emotional regulation, and sensory needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour in line with the school's policies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to education.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition.
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in SEN, childcare, or education.
  • Knowledge of ASC-specific strategies and interventions.
  • Training in Team Teach or equivalent de-escalation techniques.
  • Experience using assistive communication tools such as PECS or Makaton.
