FearFree is a leading provider of individual and family support services for domestic abuse victims and their children in Wiltshire. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for those affected by domestic abuse, empowering them to rebuild their lives.
About the Role
This role involves working as part of the Early Interventions Team, acting as the gateway for all domestic abuse referrals to the Wiltshire Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for triaging referrals, conducting risk assessments, and providing immediate safety planning advice.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Triage referrals with a focus on domestic abuse cases, assessing the level of risk and urgency.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, identifying potential threats and developing effective safety plans.
- Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns, collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure the well-being of service users.
- Provide specialist domestic abuse advice and support to professionals, fostering a multi-agency approach to addressing the issue.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
- Manage and update accurate records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in a related field, preferably within the social care or victim support sector.
- Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, its impact on individuals and families, and effective strategies for prevention and intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with vulnerable individuals and teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Proficient in using technology, including databases, spreadsheets, and other software applications relevant to the role.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
