Job Title: Domestic Abuse Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Intervention Specialist to join our team at Adecco UK Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to victims of domestic abuse.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing initial screening, safety planning, and ongoing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic abuse. You will work closely with a diverse range of service users, including those with mental health conditions, substance misuse issues, and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial screening and risk assessments to identify victims' needs and develop safety plans
  • Provide ongoing emotional and practical support to victims, including advocacy, housing, legal, and financial guidance
  • Work with a diverse range of service users, including those with complex needs and mental health conditions
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including police and VAWG services, to ensure effective risk assessment and management
  • Deliver training and guidance to internal colleagues and other professionals on domestic abuse and gender-based violence
  • Actively promote the service through publicity, events, and networking to secure sufficient referrals
Requirements:
  • Significant experience of working with victims of domestic abuse or service users with complex needs
  • Experience of dealing with conflict and difficult situations in a professional manner
  • Experience of multi-agency working and advocating for survivors within these settings
  • Experience of responding to safeguarding issues
  • Prior completion of an IDVA training certificate or relevant qualification at NVQ Level 2 or above
