We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Associate to join our growing Construction team at Wright Hassall LLP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Construction Law and be able to work on a broad spectrum of matters with regional, national, and international clients.

The role will involve working on a mixed caseload, with an emphasis on contentious matters including litigation, mediation, and adjudication. The successful candidate will be responsible for running their own caseload, ensuring deadlines are met, and assisting Partners on complex and high-value matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Assisting Partners on complex and high-value matters;
  • Ensuring the retention of good clients through appropriate client management and service delivery;
  • Ensuring all new instructions are appropriately scoped and priced, with good financial management;
  • Providing accurate, up-to-date legal advice that takes account of clients' circumstances and represents value for money;
  • Contributing to the development of the team business plan and taking ownership for the delivery of assigned activities;
  • Developing relationships with peer groups across the firm;
  • Contributing to motivating colleagues to ensure they are engaged in achieving the firm's objectives and effective use of tools and opportunities to maximise the strengths and skills of direct reports;
  • Supporting business development and marketing, and attending conferences;
  • Managing direct reports as the team continues to grow.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven technical experience in Construction Law;
  • Experience of Court processes and procedures and related case management;
  • Adaptability, enthusiasm, and a flexible approach, with the ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team;
  • The ability to work with colleagues across the firm;
  • The ability to ensure that clients are at the heart of all activities, generating valued service outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner;
  • Strong commercial acumen and aspirations to grow and succeed with the firm.
