Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our SEN department in a secondary school based in Manchester. The successful candidate will provide small group support and one-to-one intervention to students in lower year groups, focusing on numeracy and literacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students in need, working closely with teachers and other support staff to develop individualized learning plans.
  • Assist in the delivery of numeracy and literacy programs, using a range of teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Work with students in small groups, providing additional support and intervention to help build confidence and improve academic achievement.
  • Manage behavior and maintain a positive learning environment, using proactive strategies to prevent and resolve conflicts.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in supporting young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to manage behavior and work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
