We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Group Facilitator to join our Mental Health and Complex Needs service at Hestia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health needs, promoting recovery, and empowering them to regain independence.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and delivery of person-centered and holistic support services to service users, aged over 18, with severe and enduring mental health needs.
- Provide management support and guidance to Group Facilitators, Volunteers, and Social Work Students to ensure high-quality support services are delivered.
- Be responsible for the empowerment and well-being of service users, using person-centered planning and Recovery Approaches to enable them to attain and sustain a tenancy, enjoy a good quality of life, and avoid repeat hospital admissions.
- Support the Group Activities Coordinator to oversee performance related to the contract, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure that service users are able to attend and participate in a range of socially inclusive activities and skills development opportunities.
- Advise on health services, education, training, and employment opportunities to support service users in achieving their goals.
- Develop and maintain a rolling programme of group activities, using data from needs assessments, consultations, and local/national recovery programmes.
- Ensure that specific services and activities are provided to meet the needs of service users, including African, Caribbean, and Arabic speaking users.
- Support the Group Activities Coordinator in overseeing staff recruitment, induction, supervision, and appraisal, as well as identifying training needs and managing disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Maintain the health and safety of the building, undertaking daily, weekly, and monthly checks within the premises.

- A competitive salary of £29,083.60 per annum.
- A flexible work pattern, including core hours from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with some out-of-hours working required.
- Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental ill health and complex support needs.
- Good knowledge of implementing and delivering a co-production model of involvement with users in a mental health setting.
- Experience of providing high-quality day services, including compliance with health and safety.
- Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing, and monitoring person-centered support and assessment plans.
- Motivation to maintain professional standards at all times within the service and ability to use peer and management support to maintain resilience and provide a whole-team approach.
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly, including some out-of-hours working during evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
- Experience of working with referral agencies to ensure that all referrals to the service are acknowledged, assessed, allocated to appropriate support workers, reviewed, and closed within agreed time frames.
