Care Facility Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Second Chef to join our team at Barchester, a leading provider of healthcare services in the UK. As a Second Chef, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-quality culinary experiences to our residents while working in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and nutrition. You will also be responsible for managing the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, including supervising junior staff and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent culinary skills, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You should also have a good understanding of nutrition and be able to create menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents.
The successful candidate will have a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification in culinary arts, experience of working in a similar role, and a good understanding of HACCP principles. They will also be required to hold a valid Food Hygiene Certificate and be willing to undertake any necessary training to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
