We are seeking an experienced senior nurse to lead our Unplanned Care Division as a strategic clinical leader.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented nurse with strong leadership skills to join our team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and focus for the delivery of high-quality patient care and outcomes in our Unplanned Care Division.

Main Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership & Quality Assurance: Provide strong, visible leadership to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Oversee the management of all non-medical clinical posts and ensure effective governance and safety across all clinical services.
  • Strategic Direction & Service Development: Shape the division's strategic vision in collaboration with the divisional medical director, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and clinical needs.
  • Staffing & Workforce Planning: Lead recruitment, retention, and skill mix reviews, ensuring safe staffing levels and fostering a supportive environment for professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Patient Experience & Engagement: Ensure patient voices inform improvement efforts and that services are safe, effective, and consistently high in quality.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Develop a culture of ongoing improvement, utilising data to address health inequities, improve outcomes, and incorporate innovative practices.
  • Collaboration & Partnership: Work with other divisions, executive teams, and external partners to enhance healthcare delivery and address local health inequalities.

This role requires a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a complex organisational environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of clinical operations, including the management of human and financial resources, and a good understanding of the changing NHS environment.

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for professional development and career progression.
