Job Overview

Fresh Horticultural Careers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gardener to join our team at a spectacular Grade II listed Georgian mansion in South West London. As a key member of our gardening team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of horticulture and delivering exceptional results.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with 3 to 5 years experience in gardening to work closely with the Head Gardener and Senior Gardener to achieve our short, medium, and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the gardens at Templeton, including lawns, flower parterres, sunken secluded Italian garden, and reflection pool, to the highest standards of horticulture.
  • Restore, maintain, or improve existing gardens, including some hard landscaping, while undertaking new projects such as establishing herbaceous and floral borders around other buildings.
  • Monitor and nurture the health of all plants and trees, and have a detailed knowledge of watering requirements for all plantings.
  • Manage irrigation systems, assist with the implementation of sound Health and Safety practice, and maintain garden machinery.
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years experience in gardening, preferably with academic horticultural qualification at Level 2 or above.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to learn minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Ability to handle a wide range of garden machinery, including mowers, strimmers, and hedge cutters.
