Job Title: Contract Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our team at Ashton Tapers & Painters Contractor Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of various projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Meet with potential clients to discuss project requirements and manage their expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and sub-contractors once a site is live.
  • Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Manage all aspects of Health & Safety, including preparing site files, RAMS, and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Produce and manage project programmes.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organise labour, materials, and plant requirements for each project.
  • Contribute to work planning and brief project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with Quantity Surveyors to track onsite changes and variations.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Relevant building or refurbishment qualification or demonstrable experience.
  • Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS).
  • Level 3 Leadership & Management Qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
  • Previous experience in the commercial office sector.
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to meeting client expectations.
  • Experience managing teams of operatives.
  • Valid CSCS card (preferable).
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong technical skills, initiative, and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
