Job Title: Financial Control Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial control professional to join our team at LB RICHMOND UPON THAMES & LB WANDSWORTH. As a key member of our corporate centre, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective financial systems and processes to ensure the long-term financial stability of our organisations.

About the Role

You will assist in maintaining the financial stability of both councils, providing support with the production of monthly statements, completion of government returns, and monitoring capital budgets to meet key priorities. You will also develop effective and efficient financial and administrative systems to ensure that service departments can fulfill their financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective financial systems and processes
  • Maintain the financial stability of both councils
  • Provide support with the production of monthly statements and completion of government returns
  • Monitor capital budgets to meet key priorities
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a good understanding of basic accounting principles and budgetary control, as well as relevant experience in an accounting role in local government. You must also have effective communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of services provided, and the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks to deliver on service goals and ambitions.
