Job Overview

The Royal Marsden is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our aseptic team as an Aseptic Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing high-quality care to patients and contributing to the development of our aseptic services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Chief/Deputy Chief Technicians in ordering, stock control, cleaning, and monitoring of the aseptic facility.
  • Work in the support areas of the aseptic suite, setting up product trays for products to be made and compounding aseptic products, including gene therapy.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party providers to order, process, and distribute bought-in pre-ordered IV products.
  • Complete in-house training and accreditation programs to develop skills and knowledge in aseptic techniques and compounding.
  • Process worksheets and labels, and assist in maintaining patient records up to date by entering necessary information correctly on the product compounding software program.
Person Specification
  • GCSE English and Maths, plus three other subjects (or equivalent).
  • QCF level 2 Pharmacy Services Award or equivalent (max band 2 without QCF2, but training will be provided).
  • Experience of working in hospital or industry pharmaceutical aseptic services (a Band 2 ATO position may be offered to applicants with no experience, and training would be provided to create opportunity to progress).

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and that of others, and manage own time effectively.
