Job Title: Substance Misuse Nurse

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Substance Misuse Nurse to work in Gravesend on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be aligned with NHS Agenda for Change pay bands, with an estimated annual salary of £39,444.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To conduct comprehensive assessments for service users as needed, ensuring appropriate referral or signposting to healthcare services for identified health issues.
  • To provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV), including administering Hepatitis B vaccinations when necessary.
  • To support Naloxone distribution by training staff and service users in its use.
  • To build therapeutic relationships with individuals experiencing substance misuse, fostering effective partnerships for recovery.
  • To accurately record and input client data to meet contractual requirements.
Key Requirements:
  • A current PIN as a Qualified Registered Nurse with recent post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in Substance Use Care is essential, although prior experience is not mandatory.
  • Expertise in Harm Reduction, including knowledge and practical application of harm reduction strategies and health promotion techniques.
  • Client Assessment and Planning skills, evaluating service users, creating tailored recovery plans, and preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Service Evaluation Skills, conducting clinical audits to assess service quality and identify areas for enhancement.
  • A caring, non-judgmental, and professional demeanor in all interactions with service users and stakeholders.
