Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer

Islington Council is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join our Estate Services team. As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring standards through regular and ad hoc estate inspections, taking appropriate remedial action on problems encountered.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor standards through regular and ad hoc estate inspections
  • Take appropriate remedial action on problems encountered
  • Assist in the induction and on-going training of caretakers
  • Conduct regular onsite assessments of caretakers to ensure cleaning techniques are consistent with best practice
  • Assist in the collection of data and production of regular reports on all aspects of the estate service
  • Identify and report communal repairs, including emergency/urgent repairs
  • Provide information for managers to answer correspondence from residents and their representatives
  • Assist in the ordering, distribution, storage, and use of cleaning materials and equipment

Person Specification:

  • Substantial proven experience of providing advice and practical assistance to the public in the social housing field
  • Experience of working in and delivering services to a multi-cultural community
  • Experience of identifying and ordering repairs
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and issues affecting the provision of a caretaking and estate cleaning service
  • Proven ability to monitor and deliver high standards of caretaking and estate cleaning
  • Ability to identify training needs and contribute to addressing these needs
  • Good communication skills, including writing basic reports for a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to ensure effective use of information technology
