Drama and Theatre Educator

We are seeking an experienced Drama Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will bring a strong passion for the performing arts, ability to inspire students of all abilities, and a commitment to fostering confidence and creativity.
About the Role:
The drama teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons, guiding students through performance techniques, character exploration, and script interpretation. They will also provide constructive feedback on student performances and progress, supporting their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a Comprehensive Drama Curriculum: Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to students' diverse needs and abilities.
- Mentor Student Development: Offer guidance and support to help students develop their skills and build confidence.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Share best practices and contribute to the growth and success of the arts program.
- Lead Extracurricular Activities: Engage students in extracurricular activities such as school productions or drama clubs, providing opportunities for them to extend their skills beyond the classroom.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educational Background: Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Teaching Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is required.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching drama at the secondary school level.
- Skills: Excellent communication, classroom management, and a passion for the performing arts.
- Additional Requirement: An Enhanced DBS on the update service is mandatory.
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
