Job Title: Team Manager

The Team Manager is a key role within the Directorate Operations Team, responsible for leading and managing the strategic and operational aspects of the Education Directorate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop the range of services within the Education Directorate, including Compliance, Risk, Health and Safety, and Finance.
  • Lead on Compliance and Risk, ensuring appropriate financial procedures and audit control are implemented.
  • Plan, anticipate, and identify customer, directorate, and corporate performance improvement requirements and priorities.
  • Manage and lead on all aspects of school transportation, in partnership with Transportation Services.
  • Identify, analyse, and address the impact of developments in legislation, codes of practice, and industry best practice in relation to compliance, risk, health and safety, and financial management.
  • Monitor service quality and performance in relation to risk, compliance, health and safety, financial, and data management, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and specifications.
  • Liaise with external regulatory agencies, including the Health and Safety Executive, Public Health, and Audit Scotland, sharing best practice and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Requirements:
  • SCQF level 9 qualification, including a degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of operational delivery within the public sector, successful business change, resource management, performance management, and quality management.
  • Experience of driving, managing, and supporting organisational change and service improvement.
  • Consultancy, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety (essential) and NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety (desirable).
