Nurse Practitioner Role in Correctional Healthcare

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Band 6 Senior Nurse. As part of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust's correctional healthcare department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to offenders in Devon South-West prisons.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide primary care services, specialist interventions, and mental health support. Your expertise will contribute to improving the overall health and well-being of patients, promoting their reintegration into society upon release.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing primary care services to offenders, including physical health assessments and medical treatment
• Delivering specialist interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and substance misuse programs
• Collaborating with mental health professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
• Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the team's goal of delivering exceptional patient outcomes
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a professional nursing qualification (e.g., RN Degree) and NMC registration. Previous nursing experience is preferred but not essential. Newly qualified nurses will also be considered for this position.
