Assistant Manager

GLL is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at Cockermouth Leisure Centre. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they are motivated and operating at high levels of performance and efficiency.
- Be accountable for the centre's performance, including preparing and monitoring budgets, income targets, and business plans.
- Ensure all organisational, statutory, and non-statutory health and safety requirements are met.
- Provide visible leadership to all staff, ensuring they are aware of developments, policies, practices, and procedures through regular and effective communication processes.
- Mentor and develop service area staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver excellent customer service.
- Ensure the highest quality standards of customer care and service delivery are achieved within the service area.
- Continually monitor and review standards achieved, taking appropriate action to rectify adverse trends identified through audit or other mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within the organisation and with key stakeholders.
- Act as Centre or Duty Manager as required, supervising operational shifts and carrying out any other duties as required commensurate with the post's level of responsibility.
