We are seeking two experienced professionals to join our Mental Health Support Team in Barnsley. As an Educational Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health in educational settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in educational settings.
- Develop and disseminate packages of care, including evidenced-based interventions, to children and young people and their families.
- Offer specialist support, consultation, and training to staff within the service and other agencies as needed.
- Teaching qualification and Youth Mental Health First Aid training.
- Experience of working with children and young people, their families, and other agencies.
- Knowledge of educational environments, safeguarding issues, and capacity and consent issues.
- Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, time management, and organisational skills.
- 27 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 32 days over time.
