About the Role
">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Tax Services to join our team at TC Group.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to lead, direct and continuously improve the tax department of the business.
You will be responsible for maximizing the GVA of our client base by providing high-quality and timely tax advisory services.
The role involves planning, managing and prioritizing resources within the tax team to ensure that filing deadlines and client-agreed deadlines are met, along with fees targets for all tax service lines.
You will also agree monthly completion targets and annual learning and development plans with each team member, ensuring there is adequate resource to meet department targets.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 12 months' experience in heading a department or a number of service lines for a practice.
You should be proficient in CCH and Excel, with sound knowledge of both corporate and personal tax.
Able to plan and communicate effectively on all operational changes, motivate and support the team to develop personally and professionally.
Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail are essential, as well as the ability to lead by example and inspire the team to deliver a high level of client service.
What We Offer
In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of £65,000 per annum, plus benefits including hybrid working, access to our employee benefits portal, employee assistance programme and regular training and development opportunities.
Location
The role is based in our Stanley office, which is easily accessible by car but can be challenging to reach by public transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and prioritise resources within the tax team to ensure filing deadlines and client-agreed deadlines are met.
- Agree monthly completion targets and annual learning and development plans with each team member.
- Develop systems for controlling and planning workflow, progress checking, managing performance and standardising procedures to ensure consistency of delivery of tax services.
- Grow a strong tax team and develop TC Harlands tax services, playing a key part in the growth/development of the overall firm within the TC Group.
