Job Title: Maintenance and Services Manager

About the Job:

Biggleswade Town Council is seeking a skilled Maintenance and Services Manager to oversee the upkeep of its community centres and other facilities. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that our buildings remain safe, clean, and well-maintained, while also supporting our staff and volunteers in delivering high-quality services to the local community.

Key Duties:

  • To develop and implement effective maintenance schedules for all community centre facilities.
  • To manage a team of contractors and external partners to deliver repairs and maintenance work.
  • To monitor and report on maintenance budgets and expenditure.
  • To collaborate with colleagues across the Council to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions to address any issues that may arise.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. facilities management, engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in facilities management, with a focus on maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part-time role, working 25 hours per week, including weekend and evening shifts.
  • The days and hours you work will vary dependent on bookings at the Community Centre.

Salary: £36 per hour
