Exciting Opportunity for Consultants in Gastroenterology with General Medicine

We are pleased to advertise the opportunity for two Consultants in Gastroenterology with General Medicine at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW). The main site for these posts will be Weston General Hospital, with some element of cross-site working with Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) anticipated through the job planning process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop special interests to extend the spectrum of gastroenterology services offered at Weston
  • Support services currently being developed in the department
  • Undertake two general gastroenterology clinics per week
  • Support the endoscopy service with upper and lower endoscopy procedures
  • Have inpatient responsibility for the gastroenterology ward on a rotational basis
  • Participate in the emergency endoscopy rota and G(I)M on-call rota out of hours
Requirements
  • Be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their CCT
  • Have NHS experience, ideally
  • Be willing to consider non-UK applicants for specialist registration on a fixed-term basis

  • Additional recruitment premium of £20,000 for consultants, paid over a three-year period
