About the Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Communicating effectively with patients and their relatives, ensuring accurate information is conveyed and documented.
- Maintaining and monitoring agreed standards, identifying shortfalls, and bringing them to the attention of the Line Manager.
- Ensuring quality initiatives are adhered to and highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
- Developing clinical protocols in conjunction with the Ward/Unit Manager, ensuring they are reviewed as needed.
- Keeping accurate and legible patient records in line with professional and legal requirements.
- Promoting effective working relationships and communications with healthcare professionals and multi-agency staff.
- Working as a registered professional, adhering to the NMC code of conduct and implementing plans of care to ensure patient needs are met.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including acting as the identified Nurse for acutely ill patients.
- Demonstrating leadership in patient pathway progression and acting as patients' advocate.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and being clinically competent in advanced practice relevant to the post.
- Eliminating avoidable infection and minimizing risk of harm by working according to risk management policies.
- Participating in new staff orientation and demonstrating high standards of hand hygiene practice.
