We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Disability and Autism Specialist to join our team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the needs of adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism are met within our care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist advice, guidance, and direct support across various departments within our acute hospital site.
- Collaborate with the Lead Nurse for Learning Disability and Autism to maintain effective links with community-based services.
- Develop and deliver training to enhance the competence and confidence of our staff in providing excellent care to individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
- Build and support a network of advisors/champions to promote awareness and best practices within the Trust.
Under the supervision of the Lead Nurse for Learning Disability and Autism, you will ensure that adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism receive appropriate care when they access Hospital services. You will provide specialist advice and direct support to staff, help set up and improve processes for patient care, collaborate with community services, and build staff competence through training.
