Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of credit analysts in the assessment and management of credit risk across various asset classes, including FIs, Sovereigns, Corporates, IDOs, and NBFI.
- Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
- Collaborate with the business to prioritize and manage the pipeline of new opportunities and in-life activity, ensuring delivery of the business strategy within board-approved risk appetite.
- Regularly review and implement enhancements to credit policy, processes, and procedures to improve credit assessment and decision-making cycle time.
- Ensure credit analysis and recommendations are delivered to a consistently high standard in support of the credit decisioning process.
- Coordinate the timely preparation of credit committee agendas, circulation of packs, preparation of minutes, and follow-up of actions.
- Monitor market, regulatory, macro-economic, and political developments to ensure credit-related assessments reflect current and emerging information.
- Provide strategic, subject matter expertise to the Head of Credit Risk Management regarding the portfolio and individual credit characteristics.
- Participate in client meetings, calls, and visits, as well as transaction/client-related discussions, as required.
- Regularly review the portfolio credit characteristics, including the building of new reports and analyses to assist in the early identification of potential thematic or individual issues for remediation.
- Participate in credit projects and initiatives, including audit-related activities, as well as other duties assigned by the Head of Credit Risk Management.
- Supervise and develop the credit analysis team to ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality credit analysis to the organization.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders across the organization.
- Work with the Head of Credit Risk Management to determine the optimal provision of credit and market data in support of credit risk management.
- Degree or equivalent in a commercial/numerical subject and/or relevant professional qualification.
- At least 7 years of demonstrable credit analysis experience and a broad knowledge of FIs, Sovereigns, Corporates, IDOs, and NBFI credit risk within the financial services industry, ideally in an emerging/frontier market context.
- Good understanding of the IFRS9 impairment process. Financial modeling skills would be desirable.
- Working knowledge of banking products from a credit risk perspective, including global markets Treasury/FX products and trade finance.
- Strong technical credit analysis and research skills, including financial statements analysis, sector research, peer analysis.
- Ability to formulate and deliver on forecast work plans, adapting and prioritizing outputs to short deadlines where required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a simple and meaningful way to a wide and varied audience.
- Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- French/Portuguese/Spanish language skills with the ability to read and interpret financial information and documents prepared in these languages is desirable.
