Our team in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provides avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAVs. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of the latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems, and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our innovative Manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Project Manager. This role would allow you to play a leading role in our team, working on both avionics systems and armoured vehicle communication systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Bid costings relating to manufacturing for both competitive and non-competitive opportunities, with an accompanying list of assumptions and risks.
  • Creation of a proposed schedule for manufacture.
  • Supporting the programme team in the creation and development of risk logs, master project schedules, and any reviews they require, ensuring they remain updated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Responsible for ensuring the headcount database is updated with the latest data.
  • Creation of a Production Readiness Review for each project.
  • Manage manufacturing spend against the budget through monthly ETC reviews.
  • Identify new opportunities and how these could benefit manufacturing, working with stakeholders to grow the department.

This role requires the Associate Project Management Qualification or equivalent, as well as experience using Microsoft Office software. The starting salary is £35,840 to £44,800 dependent upon experience, and an attractive flexible benefits package is also on offer.
