The Methodist Church seeks a dedicated Chair for its Strategy and Policy Group within the Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT).

This esteemed role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the advancement of social justice, policy, and political work within our faith community. The JPIT is a collaborative partnership between the Baptist, Methodist, and United Reformed Churches, united in their commitment to peace and justice.

As Chair, you will guide the Strategy and Policy Group (SPG) in overseeing the team's operations and fostering effective collaboration among the denominations. Your leadership will be instrumental in achieving JPIT's overarching goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and facilitate meetings of the SPG, ensuring productive discussions and informed decision-making.
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and shared responsibility among members.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the JPIT Team Leader, supporting their efforts in implementing the team's objectives.
  • Engage in email correspondence and electronic decision-making processes between meetings.

This is a voluntary, unpaid position with appropriate expenses reimbursed. The commitment involves approximately 1-2 hours per month in addition to scheduled meetings.
