Main Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, re-evaluation, advice, and equipment for patients, carers, and other professionals within each rotation.

As an autonomous professional, the physiotherapist will work according to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) "Rules of Professional conduct" and "Standards of Physiotherapy" and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) regulations.

Key Job Duties
  1. Work flexibly in line with shift patterns and service needs as required.
  2. Participate in the evening and weekend on-call physiotherapy service.
  3. Voluntarily participate in other out-of-hours physiotherapy services, such as orthopaedics and hydrotherapy.
  4. Work collaboratively with all healthcare professionals within each rotation to ensure a seamless, coordinated service that meets individual patient needs.
  5. Supervise, educate, and be involved in the appraisal of junior physiotherapists, student physiotherapists, technical instructors, and physiotherapy assistants within each rotation.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma/degree in physiotherapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience/training in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant topic.
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Desirable Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full range of undergraduate placements.
  • At least 2 years of postgraduate experience within an acute hospital environment.
  • Completion of core rotations, including orthopaedics, MSK, neurology, and respiratory.
  • Experience as a band 6 physiotherapist.
  • Experience within acute neurological rehabilitation services.
