Police Staff Investigator Role Overview

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is seeking a skilled Police Staff Investigator to join their team. This temporary (fixed term contract) position will involve various investigative activities, including statement taking, CCTV review, suspect interviewing, and more.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a former Detective Constable, Sergeant, Inspector, or equivalent, and be able to work flexibly with a range of hours available.

We are looking for someone who can cope under pressure, negotiate sensitive situations, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Statement taking and reviewing CCTV footage
  • Suspect interviewing and gathering intelligence
  • File building and disclosure declarations
  • Full Officer in Case duties, including court attendance and evidence provision

About the Role:

This role offers flexibility and variety, making it an attractive option for experienced investigators looking for a new challenge. You will assist other investigators with key case progression tasks, including disclosure reviews, redacting material, and reviewing third-party data.

Requirements:

  • Pip 2 qualified or equivalent
  • Experience as a Detective or Police Constable, Sergeant, or Inspector, or as a Civilian Investigator
