Finance Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join our team at Reed. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate development, particularly in Letting Accounts, and possess strong Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial planning and analysis capabilities to track and report on financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce annual financial statements and accounts, ensuring compliance with financial practices and achieving a clean audit report.
  • Financial Management: Manage Profit and Loss reporting on actuals and handle VAT Returns.
  • Financial Administration: Maintain weekly Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Financial Planning: Prepare budgets and forecasts, monitoring them continuously.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with Payroll processes and address HMRC queries.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve and maintain end-to-end financial processes.
  • Tenant Management: Ensure tenant payment details comply with the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme.
  • Deposit Management: Manage deposit returns and process relevant payments as required.
  • Rent Management: Monitor outstanding rent amounts and chase rent arrears.
  • Lettings Accounts: Investigate and resolve lettings accounts queries.
  • Financial Transactions: Handle new tenancy details and financial transactions.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Real Estate development, particularly Letting Accounts, is desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills for data manipulation, reports, graphs/charts, and business cases.
  • Proficiency in using financial systems, knowledge of Xero is advantageous.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow within the company.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
