Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Applied Psychologist to take on a new challenge and contribute to the growth and development of our team. We welcome applications from existing Band 7 or Band 8a psychologists, as well as newly qualified Applied Psychologists due to qualify within the next 6 months.

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide supervision and consultation to Psychological Professions and colleagues. They will also be responsible for contributing to the collective leadership of the service and developing their clinical/professional and managerial skills.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To provide specialist psychological care to clients with complex mental health conditions or learning disabilities, including those with challenging behaviours.
  2. To provide advice, guidance, and clinical supervision to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • A postgraduate qualification in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) accredited by the BPS.
  • Experience working with mental health/learning disability clients.
  • Knowledge of legislation related to the client group and mental health.
  • Social Inclusion agenda awareness.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £50,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure reflects the national average for a Band 7 or 8a psychologist in the UK.
