Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a crucial role in delivering agreed projects that support improvements across our Service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery and mobilisation of programmes to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Lead transformation programmes that have been agreed by the Hampshire Leadership Team, ensuring programme deliverables remain tightly linked to the achievement of relevant elements of the NHS Long Term Plan, Local Transformation Plan, Trust Objectives, and Hampshire CAMHS strategic objectives.
  • Manage risks to ensure successful outcomes and resolve any issues, initiating corrective action where required.
  • Ensure effective governance, quality assurance, and the overall integrity of programmes, focusing inwardly on internal consistency and outwardly on coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes, and corporate, technical, and specialist standards.
  • Develop and implement training, guidance, and support to ensure programmes deliver required changes.
  • Report programme progress to the implementation group and Hampshire Leadership Team, as well as other key stakeholders and groups.
  • Ensure delivery and mobilisation of programmes are to the appropriate level of quality, on time, and within budget, in accordance with programme plans and governance arrangements.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to masters level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.

Desirable

  • Qualification or equivalent experience in Programme and Project Management methodologies such as PRINCE2 (Practitioner level) and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).

Experience

  • Significant relevant project management and improvement experience, with a track record of delivery.
  • Experience within senior operational or project roles, ideally within the NHS.
  • Experience of complex stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of a range of specific project areas, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training.
  • Experience of devising and managing project/programme budgets.
  • Experience of reporting programme progress to Programme Board.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of project principles, techniques, and tools, such as PRINCE2, AGILE, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience of applying quality improvement and programme management skills across multi-provider pathways.
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing a team without direct line management.
