Lead Nurse Opportunity in Surgical Triage

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced nurse to take on a leadership role in our Surgical Triage Unit. As a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of nurses to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the nursing team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  2. Unit Management: Oversee the smooth running of the unit, coordinating patient assessments and managing the flow of admissions.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver efficient and effective surgical triage services.
  4. Supervision and Development: Participate in the supervision of junior nurses and unregistered staff, and contribute to their development and growth.
  5. Cost Management: Develop an awareness of the cost implications and exercise economy when using or ordering medical supplies.
  6. Incident Investigation: Participate in the investigation of complaints and incidents.
  7. Patient Safety and Well-being: Promote the safety, well-being, and interests of patients, staff, and visitors to the clinical area.
  8. Nursing Care: Responsible for assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.
  9. Environment and Standards: Assist in developing an environment that supports the value of nursing care, and contribute to the monitoring of standards of care within the Trust's Governance Framework.
  10. Equipment and Supplies: Take responsibility for the correct use and operation of medical equipment, and assist in monitoring standards of care.
  11. Health Promotion: Advise patients/clients about health promotion and prevention of illness.
