About the Role

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crime Duty Solicitor to join our team. As a leading law firm, we provide top-tier legal services in various areas of law, including criminal defence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of complex and sensitive criminal defence cases, including bail applications, serious fraud, and murder.
  • Represent clients detained at the police station and conduct advocacy in the Magistrates' Court.
  • Prepare statements and collate evidence for court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and courts to ensure effective case management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to resolve complicated practicalities and ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
Requirements
  • Duty and Police Station Accreditation.
  • Higher rights of advocacy qualification is an advantage.
  • A clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying.
  • Proven supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent client care skills, analytical and organizational abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure.
  • Strong networking and communication skills, with the ability to market the company and generate new business.
