Our client, a leading law firm with a rich history dating back to the late 1700s, is seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join their Partnership team in London. With a strong presence in the UK, Middle East, and Far East, this esteemed organization is looking for an individual with up to 5 years of experience in personal tax gained within legal or professional services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Meet with new partners to discuss their tax affairs and complete the necessary paperwork.
  2. Provide day-to-day support to partners regarding their pay and tax matters.
  3. Prepare annual tax provision spreadsheets and journals.
  4. Collaborate with other Tax Accountants to prepare partners' tax returns.
  5. Organize tax payments to HMRC and post journals for tax payments.
  6. Conduct tax planning for partners, including relief for pension contributions.
  7. Calculate partner net of tax drawings allowances and prepare partner statements.
  8. Request certificates of loan interest paid from banks and verify internal records.
  9. Liaise with Payroll regarding changes to Directors' fees.
  10. Calculate partner full year profit share entitlement for accounts purposes.
  11. Draft mortgage reference letters.
  12. Maintain partner lists and ensure CCH Personal Tax is up to date.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in personal tax.
  • Previous experience working in-house in the legal sector.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience in CCH personal tax software.
