Building Control Manager Position

Tameside Council is seeking a seasoned Building Control professional to oversee the delivery of a high-quality service. This role involves managing a team, providing leadership, and ensuring compliance with building regulations.

As a key member of the council, you will be responsible for representing the authority at hearings and inquiries. Your commercial acumen and knowledge of building regulation legislation will be invaluable in driving the service forward.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, such as building control or construction, and corporate membership of a professional institution like the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Class 2 or 3 Registered Building Inspector status through the Building Safety Regulator is also essential.

This is a customer-facing role that requires fluency in spoken English. The salary for this position is approximately £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and generous leave entitlement.
