About the Role

We are seeking a highly-driven and talented engineer to join our Water and Environment Department at Dar, a leading consultancy providing design, planning, and engineering solutions for various market sectors, including water and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop water infrastructure solutions, including water transmission and distribution networks, sewer and drainage networks, hydraulic structure designs, and hydrology and surface water modeling.
  • Prepare design drawings, specifications, and other documents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including municipalities and regulatory authorities, to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various designed systems into a coherent design package ready for construction.
  • Develop project proposals for efficient and competitive bids, and respond to client requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience in modeling and designing water and infrastructure networks, including industry-standard software programs.
  • Demonstrated track record of preparing design drawings, specifications, and other documents.
  • Solid understanding of stakeholder engagement and societal, economic, and logistic issues connected to water infrastructure design.
  • Ability to learn design standards and criteria of municipalities and regulatory authorities in countries of operation.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with Arabic, French, or Portuguese a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite and other software packages.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in water resources engineering and modeling.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, prepare, or amend technical specifications.
  • Ability to work on fast-track projects.
