Job Title: Learning and Development Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning and Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering training and designing courses to meet the needs of our Benefits and Housing Needs, Customer Services, and Revenues teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and deliver training programmes that include a mixture of system, legislative, policy, process, and interpersonal skills.
  2. Manage and agree on priorities, being proactive in your approach to meet demands while working under pressure.
  3. Be proactive and highly organised in the delivery of training for staff at all levels, with a track record of successful outcomes and experience in training/learning and development.
  4. Exhibit excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills, along with a flexible, adaptable, and inclusive approach.
  5. Be self-motivated, innovative, and creative, understanding the challenges facing our service, and have the ability to conduct research to develop training courses and evaluate learning outcomes.
Requirements:
  1. Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of Housing Benefit and/or Homelessness Reduction and Prevention.
  2. CIPD or similarly qualified.
  3. Identify training and development needs within the service through analysis and regular consultation with stakeholders.
  4. Proven track record of designing course content to meet specific objectives.
  5. Excellent presentation, facilitation, and organisational skills.
  6. Collaborative approach with the ability to influence and advise at all levels.
  7. Enthusiasm, drive, and integrity.
  8. Enjoy working as part of a team and be flexible to meet the demands of the service.
