About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Strategic Buyer to join our team at Eden Blake Procurement & Supply Chain Search. As a Senior Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for managing a multi-million pound spend profile, developing and implementing category strategies, and leading a team of Buyers to deliver cost savings and high-quality goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category strategies to deliver cost savings and improve supplier relationships
  • Manage a team of Buyers to ensure they are correctly managing their categories, suppliers, and delivering against their cost savings and other targets
  • Run strategic sourcing projects, tender processes, negotiations, contract awards, and supplier relationship management
  • Build excellent relationships with key departmental stakeholders, guiding and advising on procurement best practice and working with them to deliver the best possible solutions to the business
Requirements
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing procurement category/commodity strategies that deliver cost savings/reduction in an automotive or other fast-moving manufacturing environment
  • Previous people management/leadership experience or ability to demonstrate the required skills and characteristics to manage a small team
  • Strong strategic sourcing and supplier evaluation skills, as well as previous experience of negotiating and awarding contracts
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to build relationships and influence at all levels of a business
  • Ability to travel both in the UK and overseas when needed
