Job Title: Residential Childcare Worker

We are seeking compassionate and empowering individuals to provide care and support for children and young people who are unable to live with their families.

About the Role

Our children and young people have often been subject to adverse childhood experiences and trauma. We need people who have a good understanding of the difficulties and challenges that children may face and have the confidence and ability to support them to recover, grow and flourish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people
  • Support children and young people to recover, grow and flourish
  • Develop positive relationships with children, young people, parents, carers and other professionals
  • Participate in a regular programme of training, supervision and appraisal
Requirements

We are looking for individuals who have a sound understanding of the developmental needs and milestones for children and young people. You will also need to be able to communicate, engage and form positive relationships with children and young people, parents, carers and other professionals.

A valid manual driving licence is also required.

Due to the nature of the role, it will be necessary for all Residential Childcare Workers to be subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and achieve membership of the scheme prior to commencing work with us.

You will also be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
