Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Director of Nursing and Quality and Safety/Clinical Governance team, ensuring effective and efficient clinical governance and quality and safety processes are developed and maintained.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the PCIC Clinical Board management team and the Primary Care team to support the achievement of key performance and quality indicators.
  • Assist with the implementation of policy and guidance over a number of key areas of activity.
  • Plan and organise complex activities, working unsupervised on some project areas.
  • Undertake detailed information analysis from a range of sources, providing update/feedback reports.
  • Manage and co-ordinate several activities simultaneously, demonstrating a high degree of attention to detail and autonomy.
  • Line management of a small team of administrative staff.

Requirements
  • Educated to first degree level or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of current issues in relation to clinical governance, risk, concerns, and incident reporting.
  • Experience in managing/handling difficult, contentious, sensitive or sometimes distressing information.
  • Experience of working and engaging with staff at all levels.
  • Significant experience in the advanced use of MS Office software.
  • Experience of maintaining and developing databases.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of NHS IT information systems, to include Datix.
  • Understanding of NHS policy in relation to Clinical Governance, poor performance and concerns.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change. Diplomatic and resilient.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and innovative.
Desirable
  • Experience of analysing and presenting information.
  • Experience of successful implementation of a new system/way of working.
  • Previous line management experience.
