Are you a seasoned health and safety professional looking to take on a leadership role? We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Health and Safety Officer at a leading chemicals company based near Cardiff.

The company is investing heavily in its site, with a full order book for the next 3 years. This makes it an ideal time to join and be part of the journey.

We are offering a competitive salary of £70,000 - £80,000+ bonus + pension.

About the Role

This is a senior management position that requires strong leadership and technical skills. The successful candidate will lead, develop, and delegate to safety and health personnel to enhance capabilities and site performance.

  • Regularly monitors UK Health & Safety legislation and best practices in Safety and Health.
  • Ensures full implementation of Corporate Health, Safety, and Security policies on site, maintaining compliance through internal auditing, inspections, and observations.
  • Oversees the site's risk profile, conducting regular reviews, audits, and assessments of Health & Safety management arrangements.
  • Develops and executes Behavioural safety programs for both employees and contractors, fostering behavioural changes that promote a culture of safety.

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor/University degree or similar in engineering, sciences or related field or NEBOSH Diploma.
  2. Minimum five years relevant Health & Safety experience in a Hazardous Process Industry environment (Chemical, Steel, Oil & Gas, Pharma).
